Potatoes and rye were the most important crops grown in “Germanasca” Valley. The farming practice was based on the rotation of these two crops: after fertilising and working the land, potatoes were sown in spring and harvested at the end of the summer. Rye was sown in autumn, in order to harvest it the following summer. After a few months’ break, the cycle would start again.
The model reproduces in a realistic way the different activities related to this work, the gestures and the instruments used.
